I was really excited. This was my first time away in the caravan with my new Mum & Dad. When we got there the first thing we did was have a nice cup of tea The weather throughout was really windy and cold. It took us over 2 hours to put up the porch awning because the wind kept wrenching it from our hands while we were trying to tie it down.

Lady Heyes is a lovely site. All of the pitches are hard standing with water taps next to every pitch. Night time lighting is very subdued, being on the EHU points but enough to see where you are going. There was a lovely toilet and shower block with underfloor heating, which is nice when having a free shower. The Reception area keeps a few basics in case you run out and there is WiFi available for £3 a day or £7 for 3 days and £12 for a week, with unlimited access.

Every day it would rain, then be dry for an hour or so then rain again with strong winds. We spent a day in Chester looking around the Charity Shops and the beautiful different array of buildings. Almost every building was a different design, some with pitched roofs, some black and white timber, some flat roofs but all connected. There was every conceivable shop and craft in the city. It is obviously a University town with so many students around. On the forth night we invited as many as we could for a drinks and chat in our awning. We managed to get 13 in comfortably and the chit chat and wining went on until after midnight. All in all a good time was had by everyone.

I was surrounded by nibbles but mum made sure I did not overindulge with alcohol although my glass always seemed to be empty.

The following day we decided to take the awning down, even though we had two days to go as it was dry and the weather for the last day was forecast to be raining. Our last full day the weather was sunny, clear skies but very cold so we decided to go out for the day. I jumped in Mum's bag to keep nice and warm. We went to New Brighton near Wallesley. It was the first time I had been to the seaside but it was too cold to sit on the beach so we walked the Promenade then had a lunch of Fish & Chips, followed by the most gorgeous Apple Pie and Squirty Cream....mmmmmmm. We had the 'Flag' to end the rally and set off back home the following morning. It has been a fun rally and we met quite a few new people.
